Amongst the whole range of
products unveiled by ASUS at Computex 2013 in Taipei, there was a tablet
that was first seen earlier this year. The device in question is a
25.6-cm (10.1-inch) screen comes with 2,560 x 1,600 resolution. It runs
on a quad-core Tegra 4 chip clocked at 1.9GHz. Connectivity features
include USB 3.0 port, Bluetooth 3.0 and 4K output via HDMI.
The body carries a
metallic-finish which is similar to the current Zenbook and the latest
Infinity tablets. Other specs include 16, 32 and 64GB variants of
internal storage, 2GB of RAM, an SD-card slot, a 5-megapixel rear camera
and a 1.2-megapixel camera on the front. The key board dock now
incorporates a multi-touch touchpad.
Additionally, the tablets
will be available in Wi-Fi or LTE variants. Thought the LTE versions
would not carry the Nvidia Tegra 3 chip, but instead run on Snapdragon's
S-4 dual-core processor. Also with this tablet, Asus had announced a
change in the name of their tablet line-up from "Transformer Prime" to
"Transformer Pad" and the Transformer Pad Infinity was the first under
the new name.
There's no word on the pricing and availability yet though the device is expected to be priced somewhere close to $ 780.
